Welcome to Prints and Pet Portraits UK. I am an artist based in Scotland. I can't claim to be self-taught since I graduated with a three year fine arts degree back in the stone age, but I feel I learned everything I know about painting animals in the years since, and on the job, so to speak. I can create a fine, realistic portrait of your dog, cat, horse or aardvark and post it flat-packed to anywhere that has a postal service, or if you are local I can probably drop it off in person.
On my site you can find a selection of some of the paintings and drawings of pets and other animals I have created for customers in the UK and elsewhere.

Apart from the photo-realism I aim for in my pet portraits I have a range of illustrations of cars, houses and landscapes, many with a surreal flavour, that I have produced in the last ten years or so, Last, but not least are some pages of loose pen and ink sketches.
-Lately I've become interested in selling more of my work as prints, which is why I've changes the name of my website to Prints and Pet Portraits UK. This means that any work you see on my site is available as a signed print, backed onto half inch lightweight foam board in either A4 or A3 form.
Most of my signed prints and portraits are commissioned from the UK but I've also had orders from Ireland, America and Australia. (I'm still waiting for one from New Zealand!). I work in watercolour, gouache, pencil, pen and ink and lately in pastel and coloured pencil.
If you would like a painting or drawing, just send me one or more photos by email or post. The better the photo the better the result will be. You're welcome to ring me on 01309 641556 to discuss a project. I can usually complete a portrait in about two weeks. I'll need a deposit of 20% and you'll receive a proof to OK before you pay the balance. Unless you're local I'll send the artwork to arrive by guaranteed post the next morning.
